Members Evening Social ‘Gala’ Tennis

Have some fun and improve your game, come along and join a social tennis group. Players are seeded so you will be up against players of your own level. The groups are supportive and inclusive. We start at 7.00pm and are generally finished by 9.30pm.

In the advent of significant rain or bad weather players will be contacted by 6.15pm, to 'call off' the night. Courts dry out quickly so do not automatically assume that play will be cancelled.

Tuesday Gala is suitable for advanced and intermediate players.

Tuesday Gala details:

• The fee for the comp will be $60 per player and payable by week two to Tony Bishop, thanks.

• Each team has four players graded 1 to 4.

• SUPPER is back. The Supper Team is rostered for duty night/s to ensure that the courts and clubhouse are left clean and tidy at the end of the night.

• Each player will play three sets of doubles as follows:​

• A Tiebreaker is played at 5 games all. Sudden death deuce is played and serving to your opposing number.

• If you cannot play, please arrange for someone from the Reserve List. Don't panic if you cannot find someone at your grade, please find a sub and we can shuffle team members on the night. If you cannot get anyone at all, please text / call Nicole.

Wednesday flexi-gala is suitable for developing to intermediate players. For the enjoyment of everyone, it is important that players can serve consistently and are able to participate in a rally.

Wednesday Gala is a different format to Tuesday as follows:

• Members of all levels are welcome to register.  If you are interested, you will be added to the "What's App" list and receive a message every week asking if you would like to play. Responses are needed by 5.00 pm Tuesday. First come/ First served basis.

• You will be matched with a player of a similar level for that night and play 3 sets. 

• It is $6.00 per night.  

We encourage you to register even if you can't commit to the whole term. Just let us know when you will be available.

The club also runs social events for members and guests such as ‘crazy whist’ card nights and trivia nights.
